This very special lamp is a sculptural interpretation in light, of a drawing by Rudolf Steiner .  it is the  fifth from a series of seven seals , or mandalas  ,called 'the planetary seals', that symbolize an archytipal developmet proccess , with special affinities to human development. 'Mercury' , the fifth seal , dedicated to our own time and stage of development. according to Steiner this sevenfold shape  can have positive spiritual influence upon  the obesrver , simply by the eyes  following  it's fluent lines and the relationships inside the form. 
the Mercury lamp is available as a sconce, or as a ceiling fixture.
